I was super excited for my first MotoAmerica of 2016 and I couldn’t wait to ride Road Atlanta. On Friday I ended the day placing pretty decently and we figured out a change for Saturday. We thought that we had made the change when in fact we did not so we sadly wasted all of Saturday running the wrong settings. Satuday’s race I got accidently pushed off the track and I got stuck in the gravel trap and I lost a lot of time and I was not able to get out of the trap quickly. On Sunday since we didn’t make the changes on Saturday we went with a big change because we didn’t have any more time. For the warmup I was able to drop half a second with the settings changed but I was having problems shifting so I knew that when we fixed the shifter I would be able to drop even more time. I checked out the shifter on the siting lap and my Dad even brought wrenches to the starting line in case we had to make changes on the grid. For the race I was running well from 8th to about 12th in a big pack. On the last lap I was pushing really hard to make up positions and to finish well when entering turn 10a I was struck by another rider and I went down. I am happy with Sunday because when we made the change we went too far so I would be able to go faster with the proper setting. I also was able to set some really good lap times and sector times during the race. I know that if we can start where we ended up at Road Atlanta I will be able to do a lot better.
I am super thankful to Dainese and AGV because I took a couple crashed through the weekend and Dainese and AGV kept me safe through both of them.
I need to thank all of my sponsors for helping me do this:
